Identifiers Subgroups
Mission

The mission of this subgroup is four-fold:

  1. Determine and then document a procedure for obtaining ISSNs for titles that do not have them.
  2. Determine and document one or more ways of disseminating information about the existence of new ISSNs, especially in the case where the publisher does not carry the ISSN on the publication.
  3. Investigate possible use of ISTC registration as a way of bringing together all versions (ISSNs) of a serial. Investigate uses of ISSN-based DOIs that resolve to title level information.
  4. Address identifier issues referred by the Publishers-to-Libraries and
    PAMS-to-Libraries subgroups.
