A model for contracting digitization services within the S.U.S. remains on the S.U.S. Digitization Services Planning Committee's agenda. Committee members are encouraged to report the institution's standard practice(s) to the Committee's listserv (susdigit-l@lists.ufl.edu).   Models developed elsewhere will be considered and may be adopted.   Models for use by archives and libraries wishing to digitize resources currently held in other formats have been authored by:

• RFP96-18. "Digital Images for Original Documents, Text Conversion and SGML-Encoding." and
• NDLP Project Planning Checklist (not a model per se but, certainly, pre-requisite reading in preparation for designing a Request for Proposals or contract specificatios);
• Research Libraries Group (under development)
• University of Florida. "Specifications for conversion of Florida Geological Survey Microfilm" [currently available in paper only]

A model for purchase of digital imaging systems also remains on the Committee's agenda. Models developed elsewhere have been authored by:

• CAUSE Information Resources Program
