Instructions for FIRST-TIME Downloading and Installing the Aleph Version 15.2 GUI Client on Individual PCs.

If you have previously installed an ALEPH Version client you must first DELETE the previous client. This can be done by the "uninstall" feature from your PCs START button at: start/programs/aleph500/uninstall

1. Make sure all previous ALEPH executables have been deleted from your c:\temp directory on your c drive.
2. Download the file GUI500-U.EXE from the FCLA secure server to the new temporary directory. This is a secure area of the FCLA server so you will need to login using your NOTIS ID and password.
3. Expand the installation files by double clicking on the gui500-u.exe within the temp directory.
4. Start the installation of the client by double clicking setup.exe which is one of the newly expanded files.
5. Once the installation program is launched, select "stand-alone" as the "method of installation".
6. On the next screen select "typical" as the "installation type".
7. Follow the subsequent screens, making sure to choose the default directory c:\AL500 and "version check" on boot.
8. Once the installation is complete, the Aleph client can be launched by choosing a Module by way of the Start button: Start/Programs/Aleph 500/[module name] e.g. Cataloging, Circulation, etc
9. Use "TRAIN" as both the user id and password for your session.
