P3Ls Data Conversion Meetings

After the initial Aleph Kickoff meeting, the second Aleph implementation meeting is the Data Conversion Meeting, where the details of the specifications for the conversion of your data from NOTIS to Aleph will take place. This is a working meeting, requiring a substantial amount of preparation. The expected outcome of the meeting is a final draft of your institutions data conversion specifications.

In preparation for the meetings, please provide FCLA with a list of your Aleph Team members and team leaders. A primary contact from each institution in each functional area (Acquisitions, Serials, Circulation, Bibliographic data/cataloging) would be helpful, so that discussions/conversion decisions can be channelled through that individual. In addition, please designate a PC Client liaison, and a Client Permissions liaison, who will be in charge of installing and distributing Aleph PC clients and setting permissions.

Aleph Configuration Worksheets and Spreadsheets:

Each institution has been provided with various documents to complete and submit to FCLA approximately two weeks prior to the Data Conversion Meeting. We expect that there will be substantial communication between the P3Ls Team leaders and the FCLA conversion team prior to the Data Conversion Meeting.
