These are predefined reports which provide various views of how the Elsevier online journal articles are being used. Your feedback on usability and suggestions for additional reports are encouraged and would be appreciated.
The data is quite reliable from July 1998 forward. In August 1999 we reprocessed all of the log files and results may actually be higher than with the previous version.
No user id or password is required to access these reports.
The definition of "Articles Viewed" is that the PDF for the article was displayed. The institution code RF is displayed when the university could not be identified.
The use by university is limited to the entire university. We have received several requests to be able to limit by smaller units. If a "smaller unit" can be identified by IP addresses, we may be able to produce a report with more site specific use statistics. Please email FCLA to discuss.
The Elsevier statistical data is being updated nightly. It IS NOT updated here as the articles are viewed.
There are limits to the amount of data that your browser will display. A query which retrieves too large a result will cause the browser to shut down or the PC to freeze. In general, set as many parameters as are relevant to your interests.
Excel97 and Microsoft Access users can save results as HTML files which can be imported into
Excel97 spreadsheets or Access databases. Netscape users (3.0 or higher) can save results as text
files and import them into PC-based spreadsheet or database programs. Help
for saving and importing ARROW results.
