WinONI Parameter Screen Information
The parameter screen will display automatically the first time you open WinONI32. You must supply several parameters before you can use WinONI32 the first time. Other parameters are optional. You may change your parameters at any time by opening a WinONI32 session and selecting FILE from the menu bar, then PARAMETERS.
- Institution Group: 2-letter code for your university (e.g., AM, CF, SF) (REQUIRED)
- Processing Unit: 2-letter code for your technical processing unit or library; sometimes the same as your IG code (e.g., AM, CF, SM, SA, SF) (REQUIRED)
- ONI Group Code: used by a few libraries to collect several PU's into one processing group; enter your PU code if you do not have a special group code (REQUIRED)
- Default Transfer Record Type: you may select the transfer type you use most often or the lowest-level type of transfer; the transfer type can always be changed at the time of transfer

- Default Generic Record Transfer Profile: a 4-letter OCLC holdings library-type code to overide the 049 code in a file or to apply to files that don't contain 049 codes; the code does not have to be a valid OCLC 049 code, but it does need to be in the ONI tables

- Current File Generation Number: ONI screen files are assigned names in the format "scrnxxx.oni" where "xxx" is a sequentially assigned number; enter the starting number here; can be different for each workstation in a department so each operator's files sort
together in the online ONI log (REQUIRED)
- Number of Screen File Generations: number of screen files to be saved (REQUIRED)
- NOTIS User Name: the userid you use for NOTIS (OPTIONAL); if this is not filled in, you'll be asked to supply the userid the first time you transfer a file in a WinONI32
session
- NOTIS Password: the password for the userid you use for NOTIS (OPTIONAL); if this is not filled in, you'll be asked to supply the password the first time you transfer a file in a WinONI32 session
- Host Name: nermvs.nerdc.ufl.edu (REQUIRED)
- Port Number: 3000 (nercicst) or 3001 (nernotis) (REQUIRED)
- Input File Directory most commonly used path\filename for records you transfer through ONI; for example, c:\export.dat for OCLC export files (OPTIONAL)
- Delete Input File After Successful Processing: mark the checkbox if you want the file deleted automatically (OPTIONAL)
- Directory to Save Screen Files: where the scrnxxx.oni file will be saved after you transfer the records to NOTIS (REQUIRED)
