RT Instructions
How to Create a Library Staff User
Request Tracker (RT) is an open source product from Best Practical Solutions in use by a number of educational and commercial organizations such as NASA, Merrill Lynch, University of Buffalo, and the Digital Library of Earth System Education, among others. The company website is www.bestpractical.com/rt/.
The purpose is to submit problem tickets for all FCLA services. The tickets can be either to report problems with or to ask questions about the functionality of these services. In addition, use RT for requesting table and other configuration changes.
Exceptions: Use FCLLIST for reporting when the systems are down. This communication method reaches the broadest audience at FCLA and insures the fastest response. It also alerts other institutions of the problem. Please send a separate email to other-aleph@prb.fcla.edu so that the problem can be archived in RT (do not CC an RT address because this doesn’t work).
Use the Module listservs (e.g., CIRCLIENT or FCLA-SFX-METALIB) to ask questions of or have discussions with other SUL libraries about how they are using certain functionality or setting up workflows. If a problem/question remains unresolved after discussion, use RT.
Authorization: Submissions are allowed only from authorized users based on email addresses.
