Currently enrolled students, as well
as faculty and staff of SUS institutions, are able to access electronic
services from off-campus sites through proxy servers (more...).
Even though a remote user is connecting to an electronic resource
through a link on one of the WebLUIS pages, all subsequent communication
is between the user's computer and the vendor's host machine.
In order to assist these patrons, please refer to the directory of
vendors below for technical support contacts and/or troubleshooting
links provided by the individual vendors.
Neither from FCLA, nor from an in-house
library site, can we trace the route a remote user is taking to connect
to a vendor. Since this information may be very helpful in diagnosing
the problem, ask the patron to do a traceroute to the vendor's host
machine before contacting the vendor; see Network
Resources for more information on traceroutes. The patron
will also be able to see the IP address of his/her computer by clicking
on Check
your IP Address on the
WebLUIS Homepage.
